About Us
Julia Day
Julia was born and raised in Eastern Ontario and graduated from The University of Ottawa with a degree in Psychology. She worked with special needs students in the school board while also working as a suppression fire fighter. For more than a decade Julia has been a Red Cross Instructor teaching to dozens of fire departments and a suppression fire fighter. (Non Retired) As a Red Cross instructor Julia has taught to schools, businesses and the public. Julia has dozens of NFPA certifications including Fire Instructor 11, Officer 11, Incident Safety Officer and many more. Julia has taught dozens of courses and has been lead instructor for a number of Fire service classes at a Ontario Fire College Regional training centre.. Being a women in the fire service gives Julia a unique perspective on emergency service education and service. Julia is a JHSC Health & Safety Certified professional
Julia is a fully certified Red Cross Instructor and a fully qualified Fire Service (NFPA) instructor.
Steve Day
Steve grew up in the south end of Peterborough, attending Kenner CVI and Trent University. After graduating university he enjoyed a number of careers including starting his own company in Toronto, working for 12 years as a fire fighter and finally making it back home to Peterborough in 2018.
While working as a suppression fire fighter Steve also worked as an instructor for the Ontario Fire College and eventually ran the provinces largest regional fire service training centre. Steve has several NFPA certifications and has taught (and designed) dozens of NFPA courses specializing in Operations, Health & Safety, Officer and Instructor development. Steve is a JHSC Health & Safety professional.
After leaving the fire service Steve went back to school and became a Family Mediator with a focus on Collaborative and Cooperative family mediation.
Steve is a fully certified Red Cross Instructor qualified to teach most Red Cross courses.
